Moving time

Kris' sister who is getting married in September moved into her first home this weekend. We were over there most of the day yesterday and today cleaning and unpacking and making their new house a home for them.

It was tiring but so worth it. It is such a nice home for them. It is right down the street to a lake so summer time will be super fun!!

The boys were thrilled to be able to help, especially Owen.

The best thing about their new house is that it cuts our travel time in half. So we are planning on seeing them a lot more often then we currently do.

Sweet wy

It's no secret that both of my boys get car sick...very often. Usually I know when it is coming. They will whine a bit and with Owen he gives me enough warning so that I can pull over and save him and the car from the unpleasantness that vomiting creates. But with wy I'm not that lucky yet, so usually even though I know it is coming there isn't much time for me to do anything.
Today was one of our unlucky days. We were about half way home from taking Owen to school when wy told me that his stomach hurt and he was car sick. I rolled down the window and gave him a bag but it was too late. He started sobbing because he was wearing his super man costume (his actual costume from Halloween) and he was so worried that he had ruined it. When I got him to calm down and the puking stopped I heard him smacking his lips. I asked him if it tasted gross and was going to reassure him that we were almost home when he responded, "no it's not gross, it tastes like pineapple."
So we got home, I cleaned out my car and his car seat. Stripped him naked when he walked into the house. Threw his clothes in the washing machine and gave him a bath.
I love this picture of him. This is wy being wy. So serious, so sweet!! He's all better and clean now.
Happy Friday!!

Owen was insistent on riding his bike when he got home from school today. I told him that it was still kind of cold outside, but that didn't hold him back. He even opened up the garage himself and closed it up once he took his bike out. He's been riding out there ever since and is loving every minute of it....I think it is fair to say we are all ready for summer around here!

Wyatt the goof

Yesterday I took the boys to JC Penny after church to look for a new pair of shoes for Owen. He was less than enthused to be there and was giving me a hard time. A really hard time, he had lots of tears and when I said we were leaving he cried harder and said "no, I want a new pair of shoes!" So I was trying to get him to calm down when out of the blue Wyatt brings us this girl with no head. When he first walked over to us he had her on his back like he was giving her a piggy back ride. Owen and I just starting cracking up. You can tell by wy's face that this girl was really heavy.

When I told him to go put her back he said he didn't know where she went. And of course a store associate walks up just then and I heard her laugh under her breath. I had to apologize to her and tell her that I had no idea where he stole the little mannequin from.

It was funny and embarrassing!!

Another busy day

It was another busy day for us. My nephews hung out with us for a little bit this morning. We haven't had them over in a while so it was super great for the four boys to be together. They played hungry hippos over and over. It was fun to watch!

Being goofs!

Then later in the day my sister had her annual St. Patrick's Day party. I took the boys to the dollar store on our way there and them each pick out two things. Owen wanted this beard and hat. Looking good buddy!

Wyatt only wanted this girly headband from the store...so I didn't fight him on it. It was adorable.

All decked out in our green outfits.

My beautiful sister, host of the party and her boyfriend.

The kids were really into dressing up this year because my sister had a "most green" contest. This is my nephew, Nathan, putting everything green on in sight to win. And he did!!

Owen the charmer!

Me and wy man.

Me and o man.

When we got home last night I let the boys play for a few while I picked up the house and did some laundry. We ended our night by watching Smurfs. It was a nice way to end our busy day. Then we all had a slumber party in my bed. Love me some cuddle time with my boys!

Happy weekend to all of you!

Our night...

Phew am I ever thankful for this night to be over. It was such a crazy busy day and on top of the project I decided to do today I had to work tonight. Let me just say that it wasn't such a great idea. When i am stressed out i'm not the most pleasant of people to be around.
And because my house was a total disaster zone and I couldn't handle one more mess to clean or look at, I took the boys to Taco Bell for dinner. It was worth it for my sanity.....that's for sure! And because my brain is still zooming 100 miles per minute, yes they were dressed in their superhero costumes. All.Night.Long and loving every minute of it!

I've been craving to be more organized lately. We have so much stuff in our house it is really just ridiculous to put it nicely. So I've been on a mission to clean, sort, donate, and throw out all of the junk that we don't need or no longer use. Thus comes in our handy storage system courtesy of Costco.

Thanks to my dad for helping me to unload it and build this beauty. Probably would have been much later of a night for me if I had to go at it alone.

Wy man helped to make sure all the baskets fit perfectly. So the unit is built but now I was having a hard time deciding where I wanted it. I thought that it would be good in the laundry room but our laundry room is quite small and this was a bigger and more bulky piece of furniture then I had originally imagined.... So plan B...

Yeah, I'm super embarrassed to be posting this. Welcome to our entry way closet. The first thing that you see as you enter our house. Now for obvious reasons the doors are ALWAYS closed whenever guests are over, but it's no good living around our guests. I want my house to be nice for me and my boys ...and all of the time.

Ugh.... I have nothing to say.

Nothing, nothing, nothing. Just embarrassment right now.

So all of the stuff came out of the closet and was thrown, ahem, placed ever so gently all over the new playroom I just finished redoing.

And some of it was in the kitchen and some of it was on the stairs and blocking the front door, but you get the idea. Huge mess from a tiny space. I'm not even sure how all of that stuff fit in there. But I assure you it did.

So my boys got tired of watching me sort and organize and clean so they headed upstairs to watch a movie. This is how I found them when I checked on them. I wish I could sleep so peacefully.

And the finished result. Each of us have two bins that are all filled with different things. Kris' has about 100 baseball style hats and a few pair of summer shoes and a few winter accessories. Mine has most of my flats and sandals and some dress shoes along with some winter accessories. Owen and Wyatt's are filled with shoes, coats, their backpacks and winter accessories.

I did have a pretty big bag of stuff to donate to the Salvation Army but all in all it was just a matter of sorting through everything and organizing it. I'm so pleased with the end result and know that it will be kept up. The boys are already super excited to have their own bins for their stuff and know where everything goes.
So now I'm pooped but I can't get my mind off of the next project to tackle. Probably the basement but it will require reinforcements....so for now I will be thankful for what the day produced for me!!
