Friday Movie Night

We had a fabulously fun movie night tonight. We made bacon cheeseburgers for dinner and had yummy sweet potato fries. Yum!

Kris took the boys out to the movie store tonight to pick out a movie. Owen picked out a CARS movie and when they got home they made popcorn.

Here Owen is watching his movie and eating popcorn. Wyatt loves watching shows with Owen.

And enjoys eating popcorn too! Now Kris and I are ready to relax for the night and watch our movie. I love staying at home on a cold winters night!

An answer??

As most of you know we have to start looking at kindergarten options for Owen. I have been adamant that I don't want him at a public school...I don't really know why I feel so strongly about this, after all I went K-12 in a public school and turned out just fine. Maybe it is that so much has changed in the past 10 years and I want and desire MORE for Owen and Wyatt. We have been praying about Owen going to a private school for some time now, and I feel that my mind is already made up, despite the enormous check I'm going to have to write each month.

Just about an hour ago while I was sitting at my desk working, Owen came over to me and crawled up in my chair and whispered in my ear, "Christ Jesus came to this world to save sinners." Yep at that moment I just knew what we had to do. We have to put him in a private school that will be faith based. I crave for him to have the school, home, and church foundation based on faith. All places where he will receive the morals and values he is getting at home. It's as simple as that!

More on this later I'm sure, but I just had to share Owen's cute story.....it may have been an answer to our prayer.

Wyatt's starting to talk

Wyatt has been so vocal this weekend. He is still basically just blabbing a lot but he knows what he wants and how to get it.

He started saying Owen this weekend.... of course it comes out as "Owah" but we don't mind, Owen doesn't either, he thinks it is great that Wyatt can finally say his name.

He still shakes his head very vigorously for "NO" and grunts "uh huh" for yes.

Wy is a little stinker though because he won't let us talk to him for more than a minute or two before getting a little tired of the whole talking game and quickly reverts back to shaking his head "NO" when he is done talking. Smart boy!

Fun weekend

We had a great weekend. Full of fun and excitement.....it was GREAT!! Kris heads back to work tomorrow, and it will be a VERY long semester for all of us as Kris has a new schedule this semester. It doesn't really allow for much family time so unfortunately Kris will only be able to see the boys on Friday's and the weekends. So I'm trying to think ahead and not allow the "single mom" mentality to kick in too soon. After all I will have plenty of help from my parents and in-laws and have even thought of hiring a weekly babysitter to give me a much needed break.

So anyway this weekend we had fun. Kris got out his radio control helicopter and played for a while with the boys. Here is Wy watching the helicopter. I love this picure, just love it!!

Here is the helicopter Wy is starring at.

This is towards the end of the five minutes of flight time and Owen is trying to have Kris land the helicopter on his hand. Wy-man pulled out his guitar tonight, turned it on and started jammin' away to some good tunes.

Having a blast!!

I also took the boys to Chuck E. Cheese's last night for a birthday party and had so much fun with them. It was a little difficult chasing after both of them but they were both so well behaved it wasn't that hard.....the boys loved it and I loved it that they had so much fun.

Kris and my brother started putting in some windows this weekend. We received an estimate the other day for over $15,000.00 for new windows so my husband, as amazing and talented as he is decided to go for it and do it himself. We already have noticed a HUGE difference in regards to there being NO draft at all from the window they installed. I'm so thankful that my husband is so motivated to want to do these projects himself.

Lastly, tonight we all pitched in and cleaned the house. Dusted, vacuumed, mopped....it was just what I needed to finish up the PERFECT weekend.

And a little update on my new years resolutions...though I know it is only 8 days into January, I have to admit I'm doing great! I couldn't be happier with how things are going and I plan to keep it that way!

Hope you are all enjoying this New Year and the beautiful weather we have been having. We sure have!

Owen's first time bowling

Yesterday was our last day together as a family before Owen started back to school and Kris headed back to work. So we decided we wanted to do something fun with Owen. We took him bowling and had a great time. My parents asked to keep Wyatt so that we could enjoy our alone time with Owen. One on one time is such a necessity when you have more then one kid!

Owen started off with the bowling ball stand....here we are talking some strategy....like there is strategy in bowling, right?! Here he decided he didn't want to use the stand and just ran and threw the ball down the alley. It was much more fun without the stand.

Using the stand again with a little help from daddy.

And here he is running and throwing again....

After we went to Applebee's or as Owen would say "bumble bees" and had an appetizer and some yummy dessert.

It was a very fun night!

Today we were back to the grind....keeping to schedules and not seeing Kris since 6am.....can't wait for May when school is out again!!

Happy New Year 2012

Well it is officially 2012. Here are some pictures from today.

I added this picture because it was my centerpiece for Christmas and I love it....so wanted to pass it along for everyone to see. We had quite the lazy day today. Kris and I went out with good friends last night on a progressive dinner date night and then stayed the night at a hotel. Owen and Wyatt stayed with Kris' parents... (thanks Grammy and Grampy...SO much!) We had a great time and even enjoyed going in the hot tub....lots of good food....tons of laughing....and to finish the perfect evening off we watched Dick Clark help ring in the New Year ...his 40th year in a row. WOW!

After we picked up the boys today we headed home and just enjoyed an extremely lazy day around the house. We played a lot and had dart gun fights and had juicy cheese burgers for dinner with pineapple rings and potato chips. It was nice to just stay in and hang out with just the four of us....hey, wasn't that one of my new year's resolutions?! I suppose I'm starting off pretty good.

I can't get over how old Owen looks in this picture! Look at how grown up his face is...I just can't get over it....And of course Wy saying cheese for me

Owen man playing trains.

Boys be playing

Wyatt playing with one of his sets that he got for Christmas

I'm not really sure what he was doing here. I think he had a piece of food in the pan and was trying to eat it.

Owen and daddy wrestling.

Owen giving me a nice smile.

Wyatt getting a little frustrated because I wouldn't give him something he wanted from the counter. My good looking hubby!

Check out Owen's good mood today!! I love it when this kid smiles and I have my camera out!

Wy being super serious about something.

I love you Wyatt!

What a nice, relaxing day today. We are excited to go to bed early with the boys tonight. Kris and I both need a good nights sleep!

Happy New Year to all of you. We wish you good health and happiness in 2012.

Wyatt's first spend the night with Aunt Julie

Wyatt had his first spend the night with my sister the other night. I honestly think that the only place he has ever stayed, other than here of course, is at my parents or at Kris' parents house. She was delighted to have him.....she took several great videos but I haven't figured out how to upload them quite yet.

Here Wyatt is eating a few handfuls of popcorn Owen must have taken this picture of Julie and Wyatt. Owen does a pretty good job....

Owen enjoying some popcorn. Check out the look on his face! I love those lips and eyes! Owen and Steve.

Tubby time

My boys

Love em'!

Thanks to Aunt Julie for watching the boys. Kris and I went to the theater and saw the new Mission Impossible movie. We had a fun night!!
