iPad learning time

While I was cleaning the kitchen after dinner tonight I didn't hear much noise which usually always makes me curious about the boys are up to. Lo and behold this is how I found them..... how sweet is this?!


And this one is even sweeter.....wy is resting his head on o's shoulder!!

Playroom completed

I am officially done with the playroom for the boys. I'm so happy with how it turned out and am proud of my hard work to make it as perfect as possible for them. We have already enjoyed lots of quality time in this space and look forward to all of our future gatherings in this room. This room has become my favorite room in the house....and has motivated me to start some other projects around here as well. Enjoy!!

Wy

Kris and I had lots of fun with Wyatt today while Owen was at school. We missed Owen so much and had such a nice little family night...dinner, ice cream, movie and popcorn. Now bath time and books before bed.

Wy is a big boy!

Wy got a booster seat on Friday. He is super excited about riding in it and is so proud of being able to unbuckle himself. My baby is in a booster. Exciting but sad!! Where is the time going?!

Sunday fun

What a super great today was! We started our day out by heading to church. Owen had a play date set up for today so we brought his friend home with us after church. The boys had a great time playing and wrestling and running around.... It was the first non-family friend kid we have ever had over without a parent present so it was a first for us....and we all survived....and will do it again!

I played cards with the boys. I'm loving this picture of Owen. Look at how serious he is!


Wy played too...I helped him play but he didn't miss a beat and said "go fish" at all the appropriate times.


And of course we were goofy!


They wouldn't give me a nice smile so I'll take what I can get these days.


And we went outside. It was cold but finally we had a day without wind. They played for about an hour outside.

we had a fantastic day! We ended our perfect day by playing a few more games, more go fish and a matching game that wy likes. Then we read a bit and I'm pretty certain the boys are out cold after a busy day. It was perfect!!

Pine car derby race

It was a very exciting morning for the Young boys, especially kris and Owen. We got up bright and early and headed out to church for the big race.

These are their cars, Owen's with his creative paint job and of course kris' near perfect car.


Me and wy at the race. Next year wy can compete too. He will be so happy to be able to keep up with the big boys.

Daddy helping out. Owens car is the first one on the left. He came in first for his age group, almost always in 1st place in every heat, a couple heats he came in second and one time he came in third (though I'm blaming that on some type of user error) :)

And tonight they both fell asleep in my bed. Love them to pieces!!!

Pine car derby time

This weekend is pine car derby at our church. So in preparation and anticipation for medals and trophies, kris and Owen have been working very diligently, making sure that every detail is perfect.

And today was another snow day so they have enjoyed working together on their cars.

Here is Owen doing a great job painting.

Owen is so excited for the race. Last year his car came in first place in most every heat so he is expecting the same results this year. Wish him luck!!!
