Sick boy

My boy has had a cough for going on a week. We finally decided to take him in and the doctor heard a little wheezing.....so he is on breathing treatments every 4-6 hours at home until he's better. Hoping it's not anything serious like asthma and he gets better really soon!!

Yard work and girls nights out

We have a lot of yard work that needs to be done. Since we bought our foreclosure the outside has been very neglected. We worked so hard on getting the inside live able and like able that the outdoors were not on our list. But after a year we decided we better give our lawn some much needed tlc.

It was so beautiful last weekend and we all enjoyed being outside.


We taught O how to drive the tractor and he was a huge help to us!


And when mommy goes out the boys have fun too.....kris took them to our neighborhood park last weekend and they had a blast! Good daddy!

It's been a while....

Why is life so busy? I'm ready for a season of just relaxing and not doing much of anything......easier said than done of course.

Skiing!!!!

This past weekend we took a little vacation and had some fun. Thursday we headed up north and stayed overnight at great wolf lodge. It was a fun time however the boys decided they would prefer kalahari.....which both kris and I agreed!

On Friday we headed to crystal mountain where my parents rented a five bedroom condo for my whole family to enjoy. It was the perfect set up and everyone had their own space.



Wyatt and Katie get along so well and are so adorable!







The rest of the weekend we pretty much spent from morning til night on the slopes. I haven't been skiing in more than a decade so this really brought back some good memories for me as my family took all ski vacations growing up. We are hoping to make it an annual tradition.


The first day there it was in the 50's. Talk about an awesome time to ski! No layers needed and we were all so comfortable. It was so nice to enjoy this time together.

We signed wy up for ski school from 10-4 on Saturday. I'm pretty sure he was more psyched about the lunch and snack breaks though!

I had to throw this picture in as well. This was on the way home. We were in the car for no more than 20 minutes before they were fast asleep.

Cross fit kids

My sister started taking O to the cross fit kids class again. He loves it!

My brother in law sent me this picture yesterday so I was asking Owen about it. He told me that the owner, my brother in laws brother took the picture of him. And I said how cool it was and then asked why he took it, and Owen said it was because he had perfect form. So I followed it up with asking him if that's what the owner said, and he said no he didn't say anything, but why else would he take a picture of me?! My boy has no lack in confidence!!!

Dining room update

We also tackled the dining room at the end of last year. It's not exactly how I want it but it such a difference that I'm leaving it alone for now until I decide what more I want to do in there. It has been nice for us to have this space. Kris and I have been utilizing it as a work station for my work and his lesson plans. And we have been entertaining a lot so this space is used more than we thought it would be.

Before at our inspection. I'm pretty sure every light fixture was brass. I spray painted them rubbed bronze the night we got the keys.



And the color was really fine but just not much to it. A little yellowy beige for my liking.


And after paint....this picture doesn't do it much justice. I recently got a new phone so my pictures should be much better. Anyway, color was good but that light fixture was driving me bonkers.


Here is the latest picture from today. I showed the light fixture to kris thinking he was going to say absolutely not. But to this day I think he likes it more than I do.

Plans for this room include new hardwood floors, board and baton on lower half of chair rail,new window, larger mirror, some additional artwork for the room to complete the space. Also I would love to paint my furniture black, but I'm not sure I'll win that argument at the moment. One day!!

Wyatt he cookie helper

Last week kris decided to make cookies from scratch. He asked both boys to help but Owen didn't want anything to do with it, nor did I really but we DID want to eat the cookies!! But Wyatt was by daddy's side the entire time and helped him make these delicious cookies. Yum!
