Mom defining? For sure! I risked my perfect nails which took me about an hour to do to save his sweet face from unnecessary bumps and bruises and possibly the unpleasant site of blood. I told Kris if Wy did it again then I was going to the salon to have my nails done....thankfully I painted them again and so far so good!

You know you're a mom when.....
You risk your fresh, perfectly painted nails to save this sweet face from face planting onto the kitchen floor.
Seriously, this was a mom defining moment for me! I had just finished painting my nails. Perfect is what they were! Two coats of polish, a top coat and fast drying drops had just been applied. I was done and letting them dry, when Wy decided to climb up on the chair next to me. He lost his balance and started going over the other end of the chair head/face first toward the tile floor. Without a thought I grabbed his ankles and saved him from hitting the floor by about two inches.

Pop Corn "Peep" Station
For the past few years my mom has been making Peep Dioramas with all of the boys. This year, Owen and I went shopping, and he decided on a Thomas the Train theme mixed with pop corn...... thus we created a "Peep Corn Station" diorama.
We had so much fun making his diorama. We will go to the library over the next few weeks where the final products will be displayed. Fun, fun, fun!!

Owen's first dental procedure
Owen had two cavities filled this morning.....we weren't really sure how he would handle it, but as usual he was quite the champ. Here he is before he was taken back. All smiles and playing away....
Back in the room, becoming a bit more afraid.
Waiting for the dentist to come and put on the laughing gas mask....the good stuff!
All done....he did great!
The dentist said that he was still numb so that he shouldn't eat anything hard for about an hour or two after he was done. So of course I agreed and also agreed that I would make sure he had his gauze pad in his mouth as his cheek and lip were still numb and kids have a tendency to chew up their mouths. Like a good mom, I gave him a yogurt when we got home because he said he was hungry. I started to do a little bit of work while O and Wy were watching some TV. Kris was outside cleaning out my car because Wyatt decided to have projectile vomit about two minutes before we got to the dentists office (but that's another story in itself). So anyway, I ran upstairs to get ready for another appointment and when i came downstairs I looked at Owen who was eating an apple and noticed that he had blood all over his face and hands. It was like watching a horror movie. He was totally oblivious to the amount of blood on his face and hands. So I ask him "what are you doing?" and he responds as calm and collected as possible, "eating an apple." I walk over closer to make sure it was indeed blood and then ran outside and got Kris. We were both startled for a minute. He chewed up his bottom lip horribly and didn't even realize it until I started wiping the blood off of his face and hands....then of course he was freaking out.

I need to remember what happened today so i can be more proactive in his after care.
For now, he is a bit sore and has quite a big fat lip....but overall he is doing great and was so brave throughout the whole experience. No one at the age of four should have to experience getting a cavity filled..... but I realize how blessed we are that this is the least of our worries and concerns when it comes to the health of our boys.
Blessed is what we remain!!

Splash Village
We headed to Splash Village for a little time away from reality. Kris is home this week so we headed out Monday after we picked O up from school. We ALL really needed some time away. I've been working crazy hours, Kris is hardly home and the boys just deserved some good mommy and daddy quality time....without computers or cell phones, etc! And fun is what we had!
We went to the gift shop at the hotel and let them pick out new stuffed animals. Owen picked out Zig Zag which is a larger version of the animal he already has and Wy picked out Stripes. It was so much fun watching them pick something out, they were both so excited!
So we went back to the room and O has been dying for Wy to have a slumber party with him....so we thought we would try it out! It looks super cute in the picture but it didn't last more than 10 minutes before Wy fell out of the bed. So he ended up sleeping in his familiar pack'n'play for the night.....his cozy little beddie, just for him!
We also ventured over to the Bavarian Inn since their arcade is about 100x better than the one at Splash Village. This was also super fun! Kris and Owen played lots of games including this fun air hockey game.

We celebrated Grampy's birthday this past weekend and had a great time. Erin had us all over for a fabulous meal and everyone was able to be there to celebrate, which I know means so much to my father-in-law.
Here O and Grampy are wrestling.... I love both of their expressions!
Owen took this picture of grampy and GG. Pretty good job, O!

Happy St. Patrick's Day
My sister had her annual St. Patrick's Day party last night. We had a blast. Here is a picture of O right before we left our house.....love this picture of him....and of course he had to wear his Pine Car Derby medal.....
The party featured a talent show where all of the kids could show off their talents. There were vocalists, dancers, and musicians amongst the competitors. Owen had to share his harmonica skills with the audience.

So back to reality now, but at least we feel refreshed and energized! We are looking forward to the rest of the week to spend together as a family and just cherish every moment of it!

It was a great night filled with green everything!! Happy early St. Patrick's Day!
