Waiting for the dentist to come and put on the laughing gas mask....the good stuff!
All done....he did great! The dentist said that he was still numb so that he shouldn't eat anything hard for about an hour or two after he was done. So of course I agreed and also agreed that I would make sure he had his gauze pad in his mouth as his cheek and lip were still numb and kids have a tendency to chew up their mouths. Like a good mom, I gave him a yogurt when we got home because he said he was hungry. I started to do a little bit of work while O and Wy were watching some TV. Kris was outside cleaning out my car because Wyatt decided to have projectile vomit about two minutes before we got to the dentists office (but that's another story in itself). So anyway, I ran upstairs to get ready for another appointment and when i came downstairs I looked at Owen who was eating an apple and noticed that he had blood all over his face and hands. It was like watching a horror movie. He was totally oblivious to the amount of blood on his face and hands. So I ask him "what are you doing?" and he responds as calm and collected as possible, "eating an apple." I walk over closer to make sure it was indeed blood and then ran outside and got Kris. We were both startled for a minute. He chewed up his bottom lip horribly and didn't even realize it until I started wiping the blood off of his face and hands....then of course he was freaking out.
He has two more cavities that need to be filled in April. I need to remember what happened today so i can be more proactive in his after care.
For now, he is a bit sore and has quite a big fat lip....but overall he is doing great and was so brave throughout the whole experience. No one at the age of four should have to experience getting a cavity filled..... but I realize how blessed we are that this is the least of our worries and concerns when it comes to the health of our boys.
Blessed is what we remain!!
