A pretty perfect night

We had a movie night tonight. Pizza and licorice were the menu items and it was pretty fantastic. The boys had showers and then put on their comfy new bathrobes from nana and were ready for the night.

We watched the movie storks and it was pretty cute!
And this is how our night wrapped up. I know it won't be long before he doesn't want to cuddle anymore but I'll cherish every moment like this. I was soaking it all in tonight and was able to lay with Owen until he fell asleep too! If I don't post at all tomorrow I'll consider this to be a perfect way to close out 2016.

Camp Barakel 2016

Our water damage to our house really set me behind this year and I'm trying to play catch up now to be sure all of these pictures make it in my 2016 blog book.

Barakel didn't disappoint this year. The weather was amazing again!

The boys both did archery. Wyatt did really well.

As did Owen.
Thunder Express was a must for all of us.

The craft store is also a must.
Me and my boy.
Love!
And lastly our family wheel barrel picture from 2016!

First day of school

I realized that I never posted first day of school pics of the boys.
My big first grader

And my big fourth grader

Heading in to school. Love these two!!

Owen

Our sweet boy is having some issues blacking out. Then he did this to his eye. We think it was when he was diving in the pool. We've been to a few specialists who are trying to figure out what's going on with him. Hopefully very soon we will have answers and get him better!

What we've been up to

We have loved our time together over Christmas break. We've been very lazy and have enjoyed every minute of it!

We've read...

We've laid around...
We've napped....
And cuddled... A lot!

Love these boys beyond belief!

Christmas 2016

Here are the boys after they put together all the bags of goodies for their teachers.

Christmas Eve with our new white tree. Love!

The boys got these crazy, cool, gigantic bean bag chairs.
Christmas morning...roughly 6:30am. Wide awake and ready to go!
Owens light saber swords.
What's Dino charger figure.

They were very happy and content with all of their gifts this year. They got Legos, power ranger Dino chargers, light sabers, waffle iron, kids mixer set, books, s-bricks, and lot of other stuff!  So blessed!

Buddy

Buddy visited the boys again this year. They looked for him every morning after they got out of bed.

Till next year buddy!

Kris' birthday

We were happy to be in the house for kris' birthday.....

Looking forward to spending many more birthdays with this guy!

The boys Lego sets

The leak in the kitchen went down the basement and ruined most all of their toys in their playroom.  We ended up having to total loss all of their Legos which meant that they got new ones.  Once we were back in the house I let them pick out one big Lego set each. This kept them busy for almost 5 hours....and quiet while kris and I works on another project.

And here is a set that they built free hand. They are so creative!!

Wyatt the smartie

Wyatt had a spelling bee at school and he placed third in his class.  He was upset because he really wanted to study for the spelling bee but given our recent circumstances we were working on house projects that consumed most of our time. We are so proud of him!!!

Kris got a new smoker

Kris loves cooking and recently got a new smoker. He's enjoyed making different things in it. Last week we made pizza in it....yum!!!

House update

We've undergone quite the renovation the past few months. It was definitely a learning experience for us and we hope to never have to go through this again. With that being said I think that it was a blessing is disguise and we now have the home that we dreamed of having since we moved in.

These were the before pictures of the kitchen, post flood.

Our construction company had a kitchen company come out but they determined they didn't make the same style doors any longer. And since we had so much moisture in the house and then the heat and fans to dry everything out, many of the doors were warped.

During the short time that I had to pick everything out, this was the closest picture that I found online that I used as my inspiration picture.

Kris liked it okay so I was good to go with my vision.  Putting it on paper was harder than I was expecting. It was such an emotional and stressful process. Most people would be excited to pick out a new kitchen and I was, but only having two days to do it was more than I could handle. It caused a lot of anxiety and it wasn't fun at all. So thankful it's over now!

Here's what we ended up with. We are in love with it. There were many bumps and it was a very long road but we are finally enjoying it now.

It's been a while

We have been crazy busy around here. We were displaced from our house for over 5 weeks and were in a hotel. Between hotel life, working on the house ourselves and contractors at the house most days, the last few months have been a whirlwind. We are SO happy to be back home though and are loving our new house :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Our leak

We came home to a water leak. It was late and we were tired and I was helping kris back the camper in the driveway when Owen came running out saying that he heard water and that the mat in front of the sink was soaked. I continued to help kris and listen to Owen and when we came inside we realized the severity of the leak. We had a leak for who knows how long under our kitchen sink to the basement. The demo team is here now and I will blog the process. I for sure know we are getting new carpet in the living room.

It's crazy to say the least but we were are thankful and blessed that it wasn't anything worse and nothing that valuable was ruined.

Vacation day #6

Saturday was our last day, we tried to stay another day but the campground was full. They were nice enough to offer us to park our camper in their storage lot for a few extra hours so we could go to the beach.

It was another absolutely perfect day!! So blessed to have had such awesome weather all week long.

The water was a good temp. A little cold but fine once you waded around a bit. We were mostly on a big sand bar which was really cool. I didn't have to worry about the boys so much.

My sweet boy was begging to go run on a dune so naturally we did.

Me and my boy who is missing his first tooth. He kept saying momma look the whole week!!

Our view from on top of the dune. Beautiful!

Drying off before we headed out.

We stopped in town for dinner and ice cream.

I can't believe what an incredible week we had. It was truly so relaxing, enjoyable and fun.
