Merry Christmas

What a wonderful Christmas break we have had so far. A little crazy as we started off with the strep, the flu, head colds followed by the flu but we are almost all completely back to normal. We are so blessed to have two awesome boys! I thank God all the time for them!

We celebrate Christmas from kris and I by taking the boys on a fun trip. This year we went to a waterpark. So the boys did not get any gifts from us but they did manage to get a few from Santa! And he was good to them!

Here is my boy, bright and early.....love him!

And my other boy....love him too!

And both of them. They were soooo sweet to each other Christmas morning! It made for a very relaxed day!

Santa brought the boys a basketball hoop. We were lucky enough to have such mild weather on Christmas (boo to no snow) that kris and Owen got to try it out.

We are looking forward to using our new hoop for many, many years.....

And slowly but surely we are replacing all of our original 1994 light fixtures. Kris got me a new light fixture for our entryway.

Old!!!

New!!

Much better....now just need my hardwood floors.....soon enough!

And finally at Grammys.....and nicer pics. Man I really need to stop using my cell or at least upgrade to a newer phone with a better camera.

Such handsome boys!

Their eyes get me all the time!

Ms. Kyle made us each scarves. What a very through true gift. We all love them.

Owen's favorite color is gold. She came through for him.

Here they all are hanging up.....love them!!!

This pile is just from Grammys house....yikes!!!!! Spoiled boys!

Here's wishing you a very happy new year to you all.

Big snow

Unfortunately we haven't had any snow in several weeks and I'm wondering if we will have a white Christmas this year. But Wyatt found some time to play in the snow from several weeks ago....

Buddy!

Buddy came to our new house to visit the boys. They were wondering if buddy would know that we moved. Thankfully buddy came and on his first visit and brought the boys new toothbrushes.....Owen was just getting over strep throat so the timing was perfect!!!

Ring ring ring the bell

For the past several years my dad has been a volunteer for the Salvation Army. He rings the bell several weeks leading up to Christmas and truly believes in this organization.

Our family has been trying to do away with gifts, so that we can teach the boys what the Christmas season is truly about. And for that we want to give back to our community. So it's perfect that we can meet up with my dad and ring the bell with him a few times during the Christmas season. This year kris went to.....and as mild as the weather has been lately, we picked the coldest day of the year so far.....figures!!

Wyatt dentist

Well Wyatt did not have the greatest dentist appointment his last visit.....five cavities. Ugh! So they have to take three different appointments to fill them. This past week was his first of three appointments. He got his laughing gas but he really didn't show much of a reaction, Owen was pretty funny with his so I was hoping for some goofiness. But nope!!

He was able to watch a movie during his appointment. How the times have changed!

And after we took him to the store so he could use the money he got from Grammy. He loves Legos!!

Fireplace

We recently redid our fireplace. We out new tile around it, and I painted the mantel and kris painted the brass black on the enclosure. So once we had everything finished we were kind of sad knowing that the fireplace didn't even work, or at least that is what we were told during our inspection. Kris started playing around with it and he got it to work. We don't use it often but it so nice to know that it does work when we do want to turn it on.

Cars

We bought our foreclosed home back in March and our house has a three car garage. With all of kris' stuff that he has it was not really an option to park in the garage at our last house. So I was overjoyed when kris could not only make room for my car but his as well. We not can fit three cars in a three car garage. That is pretty amazing!!!!

Family Christmas trip 2014

The boys do not get presents from us on Christmas morning. Instead we take a trip each year and spoil them rotten. This year we went to a waterpark where we have been before however this year they built an addition and we wanted to check it out. It was SO much fun!

We let the boys pick out stuffed animals in the gift shop at the hotel. They were ecstatic that they got to pick out the biggest ones there!!

Next up we headed to another hotel for some arcade fun. Arcades are win wins with boys. And kris and I had fun too!!

We all enjoys a game of deal or no deal.

Turning in our tickets to find out how much junk, ahem prizes the boys could get!

And lastly we went to a Christmas store and the boys got to pick out a new Christmas ornament for our tree. Owen loved his!

Within the first hour of being at the waterpark Wyatt slipped and fell and hit his head. Life guards came over and checked him out and we had to fill out paperwork. But in no time my boy was running around like crazy again.

We are so thankful for trips like these. The boys must have said 20 times how much fun they had and thanked us over and over. It sure goes to show you how a day with no distractions can turn into a fabulous memory.

We are looking forward to our trip already next year!

Wyatt went skiing

My sister is awesome.....she does so much adventurous things with my boys. We were raised taking ski vacations to Vermont and Maine and when we lived in Europe even hit the slopes in Austria and have so many amazing memories. But now I kind of live vicariously through the fun things that my sister does. And I love that the boys can experience these first experiences with her, since she doesn't have kids of her own it's such a special bond for them.

So last week she picked Wyatt up from school and took him to our local ski hill. I was surprised that he wasn't more nervous.....he did so great!!!

Going up the magic carpet ride all by himself.

Look at my boy go!

He even was brave enough to go on the chairlift his very first time skiing!!

He can't wait to go back and Owen is very jealous that he got to go skiing before him

Snow snow snow!!!

We have been CRAZY busy over the last month doing so many needed updates around the house. I'll share soon but for now enjoy this picture of our most recent snowfall. It's been SO cold outside. Kris ran out and snapped this picture yesterday. Soooo pretty! I love that you can tell that it is actively snowing....such a sweet snow!

There are things that I want to do to the outside of the house yet....but that won't happen for a few years I imagine.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! This was the 5th time the boys wore their costumes this season, and thankfully the last. We had two Halloween camping weekends and a party at my sisters house and last weekend we went trick or treating at greenfield village. Needless to say we have enough candy to last us a LONG time!

Wy was the red power ranger and Owen was a ninja. They both really enjoyed their costumes and took their parts seriously!!

Crazy thing happened here today.....it got cold, really cold with rain which turned into sleet which turned into snow. But the boys were troopers and daddy took them out for about an hour.

We had the local fire department come pass out candy to the kids. This is right next to us. Kris said that one house had a BBQ and was passing out cheeseburgers to the adults. We are really loving our new sub! The fire truck was a big hit......kris took the firemen coffee because it was so cold outside.

And afterwards, Wyatt eating two pixie stix at the same time. What talent he has!

And did I mention we actually accumulated snow?! This is a first I believe, and it's still coming down now!!

Hope you all had a happy Halloween!!

Trick or treat

This past weekend we went on our second Halloween weekend. It was also our last trip of the season. We had so much fun and the weather was chilly but nice during the day with the sun, but pretty cold at night. It was a nice way to end our camping season.

Wyatt go to bring home corduroy from school and so we took him camping with us. We dressed him up with a handkerchief and Grammy made him a scarf to keep him warm.

It's hard to believe our camper will sit in storage for 6 months now, but we will for sure be ready to use it come may!!

Imagination station

Late in the summer, Kris' parents took us to the imagination station in Toledo. I don't know how I forgot to post these pictures..... We had a great day filled with fun!

Yes it was a little nerve wracking riding the bike, but I was promised it was safe!

We loved how much cool stuff there was for the adults to do as well! This was really fun too!

The boys about to make a rocket.

Here they are getting ready to test them. They worked great!

Building dominos never gets old.

One of the main reasons we went to the museum was because of their titanic exhibit, Owen's a little obsessed.

An awesome Lego model of the titanic......talk about cool!

And another pretty cool titanic piece of art.

We packed a picnic lunch and ate by the river. It was a beautiful day.

Grammy and her boys.

Owen looking at the river.

The pigeons were so goofy. This one took one of our cheesy poofs and ate it in one bite.

Me and my boys.

Owen doing some experiment

And Wyatt trying it out

Owen liked playing the guitar.....just like his papa.

My sweet boy!

This was my favorite, the little house.....it was SO hard to walk straight. Such illusions!

Cute big boy!

O on the hamster wheel

Building bridges. Both boys liked this

Hurricane winds.....really cool!

Here I believe they were looking out over the river at boat, how neat!

Grampy gave it a go too!
