Sledding fun.....

Yesterday we went sledding. I'm pretty sure it was more snow then what we had all of last year. It was great snow for sledding. My brother and his boys came over too and we made a night of it. Kris' parents gave him a toboggan, from his childhood, and everyone had a blast on it!

Owen with ice cold hands.

Wy stayed pretty bundled.

Happy boy.

Happy but cold.

Trekking back up the hill. I carried Wyatt up a few times and was beat!

All riding down together. That's 5 people in total. Pretty cool!

Hoping to have many more "snowy days" like this one for sledding, making snowmen and creating other good memories.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas. We had an exhausting but awesome day. So blessed to be so close with both of our families. We had a "simple" Christmas this year and it worked beautifully. Definitely will try for the same simplicity next year.

My gift from my parents. Love!!

Wy opening up his gift from great grandma Jane last night.

Santa fixed our Thomas the Train waterfall trackmaster set. How nice of him!! It was the only thing wy wanted this year.

Santa also picked out some pretty cool stocking stuffers for the boys.

Hung with care!

Their simple piles of toys.

Merry Christmas

The next few days will be full of excitement so I wanted to take a minute to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. May we all remember that Jesus is the reason for the season and that Christmas is about giving and not receiving. We pray that you all have a blessed Christmas this year and always!

My boys

I bought the boys matching cuddle duds today. We had our first big snowfall of the season and I thought these would be a perfect base layer for all of the outdoor fun we will soon have.

Merry Christmas Owen and Wyatt

This year we sat down with the boys and gave them an option of what they wanted for Christmas from Kris and I. They could have presents under the tree or we could take a fun trip. Owen said at first that he wanted both...but we explained again that they could have one or the other. The boys finally decided that they wanted to go on a fun trip. We ended up choosing Splash Village and had an amazing little get away.  We went all out and ate out the whole weekend and got them stuffed animals at the hotel gift shop and ordered a pay per view movie for them and let them get a HUGE slushy in the water park..... and went to the arcade and made a day of it! It was a blast!

Owen waiting for the water bucket to dump out all of the water.
 Wyatt the looker!
Kris and Owen hanging out having fun!
Wyatt mastered swimming in the lazy river mostly by himself. He is getting so big.
But daddy was always close by to swim with our baby boy!
We are planning to make this a tradition each year. We don't need the "stuff" and really want to make Christmas a special, memorable occasion for the boys. They were thrilled with all of the fun that they had....can't wait to do this again soon! Love spending time with our boys.

Owen's first school Christmas concert

Last year when Owen was in preschool he was super sick the night of his Christmas concert. I was praying for good health for him this year. Finally his concert came and he was able to sing Christmas songs with all of his classmates.

He did an awesome job. We are so proud of him and are especially blessed to be able to hold him and Wyatt tight tonight. The recent tragedy in Connecticut has broken my heart. I can't get enough of my boys the past few days. Life is short and unpredictable. Love your children, hold them close and practice patience. May God grant His peace and comfort to all of those families affected by this horrible event.

Happy Birthday Kris!

Tomorrow is kris' birthday. We celebrated with both of our families on Friday night and had so much fun. Kris got so many wonderful gifts.
We are so blessed to have him in our lives. I'm so proud of him and all that he does for us. He is a perfect father and husband. Love you Kris!!!

The boys visit Santa

My sister had Santa and Mrs. Claus visit her house today. The boys were excited all day long. Here is Wyatt in the car. Julie also had a "most festive" contest so of course the boys were dressed to the nines.

Here is Owen looking snazzy.

Wyatt meeting Santa. He was a little hesitant.

Poor kid was spooked.

Finally sitting with Santa telling him what he wanted for Christmas....a waterfall track set because ours has a broken piece and Santa can buy it from target!

Finally saying "cheese" and warming up a little bit.

Owen was clinging to kris the whole time Santa was over and would not talk or look at him at all. Both boys won the "most festive" title and their prize was this inflatable penguin. The boys love it!!!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.. Yesterday my parents and I took the boys to see The Nutcracker. Both boys were so well behaved. One proud momma is what I am.

Making pierogi

Kris and I made pierogi today for kris' birthday celebration later this week. It was a long day but it will be worth it!!! We even had some pierogi for dinner tonight and we were very happy with our hard work.

Here I am stuffing the cherry ones.

Kris cutting out our dough.

Rolling out the dough.

Our cherries. Yummy!!!

And our potatoes.....so good!!

I am so glad that this tradition is in my family. I love that we know how to make it ourselves and I think it is awesome that Owen and Wyatt try to help us. We will make a super fantastic team when they are older at whipping out lots of pierogi.
