Weeds and more weeds

When kris was staining the play structure I decided to take on a project myself. Our home was vacant for two years prior to us moving in so we are playing catch up on trying to get the home look like it was never out of commission. It is taking a lot of manual labor but slowly we are getting there. We sprayed all these weeds the day before so that's why they are mostly brown.

It was a mess!

But after a few hours of work the results were amazing! We went out to the hardware store that night and picked up some paver sand so it even looks better than this now.

Yesterday the boys and I picked all the weeds in our driveway. It's beginning to look like someone lives here!!

Family time

The other night we enjoyed some family time. Here are me and wy man.

And me and o man.

And all three of us.

Kris was making dinner and Owen said he wanted to help him learn how to grill. So as I was out in the driveway they were cooking dinner in the garage, when I came back in I found them like this. Adorable!

We watched a movie that night and Wyatt started off on the couch with me and Owen but then moved down to the floor to be next to kris. Such a daddies boy!

Play structure and a new friend

We scored big with this giant play structure at our new house, but it was really shabby looking. The previous owner built it for his kids and it is very sturdy and the boys just love it, but it needed some tlc!

Kris scrubbed it all down and then stained it.

Lastly kris used shingles that we found in the garage and put the roof on. It looks so much nicer!!

We have these little red squirrels at our new house. Kris hates them because apparently they eat wood, but they are so cute!

I took these through the window in our breakfast nook, isn't he adorable?!

Owen's birthday trip

Last week we headed over to the west side of the state and went on our annual camping trip to muskegon. As always we had an absolute blast.

Writing on the sand.....you just have to do it, it's addicting!

We hiked up mt baldie, a mile and a half hike, again this year and on the way down wy got tangled around the neck by some tree branches. Poor kid!

Our fam on the top of mt. Baldie. Love this pic! Such an amazing view.

All the boys hanging out.

This was on another hike that we went on.

Wy jumping off a sand cliff.

Owen getting some awesome air.

The boys climbing up a sand dune path. Only to run right down it.....this continued for about 20 minutes.

All the boys.

Me and the hubs

Another pic of all the boys, it's so fun to be able to do so much together.

Kris and wy man walking along Lake Michigan.

Beautiful sunset

And two days before his seventh birthday Owen lost his second tooth!!! He was so excited. The tooth fairy even trekked through the campground to find us!

Wy man getting some exercise.

And this was Owen's birthday trip, to Michigan. Adventure. We had a. Absolute blast. Notice not one cloud in the sky....perfect!!!

Owen was finally tall enough this year to go on most of the big roller coasters. I went on a lot of rides with my nephews too. So fun!

On the Ferris wheel.

Nana and wy way up high

When we got home we gave Owen his present. A real bow and arrow. Just what he wanted. He's been getting a lot of practice.

Happy 7th birthday Owen

My boy turned 7 last week and I can hardly believe it! He is so grown up and is getting so big. He continues to be a beautiful child and I love him so much!

We celebrated his birthday with kris' family about a week before his actual birthday. Here is the good looker showing Grammy his missing tooth.

Any Grammy brought wy a present, he was so excited about getting something on Owen's birthday.

Owen got the razor spark scooter from GG and has been riding it non stop. That thing is seriously cool! We love watching him on it except Wyatt thinks he is going to blow up if he gets too close!

My boys!

Me...

Daddy helping Owen open up some of his spy wear.

And ms. Kyle showing Owen how to use the loom.

Owen requested dirt pudding for his dessert so I came up with this. It was a fun night!

Me and kris with our boy!

Checking out all of his spy gear! He's totally ready for the FBI.

Holland

We were in holland this past weekend. We took one of Owen's buddies with us from school and his family met us up there later Friday night. Here are o and e right after set up.

O and e playing together at Lake Michigan.....our weather was perfect!

They even wanted to be buried together.

E was brave and just wanted his head sticking out. O didn't want anything to do with it!

Wy wanted to give it a try though.....

Later that night we went to downtown holland where they had their mad hatter festival going on. The boys got their faces painted. Owen was a snake...

And Wyatt got a michigan state helmet on his cheek.

O and e hanging out, and wy peeking in on the lower left.

After the festival we went fishing and both kris and e got lucky.

E caught the biggest fish of the evening, a sheepshead. It was almost the size of him. So cool!!!

And kris caught one shortly after. What a night for fishing!!

Before we left on Sunday we took a two mile hike, to an overlook of both lake macatawa and Lake Michigan .

Here is lake macatawa.

And here is the Lake Michigan side.... Very pretty!

Here are the boys! They got along so well. Not one argument the whole weekend. It was so fun camping with his whole family!

Wyatt ran down this dune before I could get a picture of him, but here are the other three boys. L and wy hung out the whole weekend, they unlike o and e did argue a lot, but they are also a lot younger.

And wy on the way home with his sticks that he found...... I'm pretty sure he still has them!
