Memories are forever!

We had a spectacular time on vacation this past week. We first headed to muskegon so we could take the boys to Michigan adventure for a day. Our weather forecast wasn't the greatest and called for scattered thunderstorms every.single.day.....

So needless to say this was day one. It was looking pretty eerie and I was having doubts.

Thankfully wy slept through the whole thing.

But when we arrived it was just a bit overcast. We headed to grand haven for the night to have dinner with friends. It was so fun!

The next morning we decided we would wake up and if the sun was out then we would head to Michigan adventure. Sure enough it was gorgeous the whole day. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Not too hot and not too cold. Just perfect!!

Owen missed out on the big rides by about an inch and a half but he still enjoyed some of these smaller rides with wy. Wy love the airplane ride and the water roller coaster ride.

Owen especially loved the mad mouse. What a fun ride that was. He can't wait to go back next year and is hoping he is tall enough for all of the adult rides. This kid had no fear.

We also did bumper cars and spent a good portion of the day in the water park which was amazingly fun! And Owen was tall enough to go on 6 water slides so that was a huge plus in his book.

Our campground was super nice. We spent all day on Thursday in the pool, riding bikes, playing shuffleboard and in the arcade. But Owen opted to eat dinner by himself.

Our Friday started off a bit rocky when we realized that we were basically taking all back roads to get to traverse city. And we were already a bit nervous because we had never stayed at the state park in Traverse city before....and all of their sites are back in....so with our camper being over 40' long we weren't quite sure what to expect.

Lo and behold we got there and filled up our fresh water tank and were on our way when kris thought he caught the curb. The fresh water tank is the blue post sticking about 8-10' straight up in the air.

And here is the after. Kris ran it over and created a little flood. We damaged our camper too. So sad it was!!! We had to fill out an accident report and give our insurance information and felt like the biggest idiots. The dnr guy kris had to talk to said that this is the twelfth time he has seen this in 27 years on the job....so kris felt pretty special indeed.

But we didn't let that ruin our weekend (though we agreed we will never stay at that state park again as it is just not compatible to larger trailers) as you can tell by the pictures below.

The boys were trying to feed the ducks but the stupid seagulls kept stealing the crackers.

Owen trying to run away. Thankfully we didn't get pooped on.

See how peaceful it was when the seagulls left us alone?!

Grammy and Grampys hotel had kayaks so the boys took a lil spin.

Grampy helped wy out.

Wy playing in the sand. Can I just say I hate sand, with a passion! But I know how fun it is so tried to hide my true feelings from the boys knowing that they were having an absolute blast.

So much fun in Lake Michigan.

Check out that nice smile.

Kris and Owen

Kris and wy digging a big hole, you can see water in there if you look hard enough.

Grammy did a project with the boys on the beach.

And after a lot of scrubbing they turned out beautiful.

Owen made this one all by himself.

I was napping so this one is kris' hand along with Owens and Wyatt's.

And here is wy's hand and foot.

Beautiful sunset.

Me and my boys.

And me with all of my boys.

Grammy and Grampy with the boys.

On Saturday I took the boys to the star theater downtown and we watched mega mind. It was a perfect morning! And on Sunday we promised the boys candy from a local candy shop and after Grampy and kris took the boys so Grammy and I could do a little shopping. The boys are in the above picture, I promise.

And there was lots of cuddling at the campground.

And since it was cherry fest in traverse city and parking was next to none we opted to take Grammy's car all around which meant kris had to spend his car rides like this.....

And like this.....he was over it pretty fast. Grampy tried it once too. What good men they are.

And we had an amazing dinner and then hit up the coolest put put course.

Wy turned out to be quite the little put put golf enthusiast.

So fun!

And we ended our last night perfectly.... by going to moomer's for some delicious ice cream.

This was by far one of the nicest trips we have been on. And it was great because we had our family alone time, met up with friends and then finished off the trip with Kris's parents.

We are so blessed, so very blessed!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Jill
